The month of March is National Reading Month.
Because reading is a fundamental skill necessary to a child’s learning and success at school, an annual reading program was launched in 1998. The nation’s largest children’s non-profit organization, Reading is Fundamental, partnered with the National Education Association to create the Read Across America program. It kicks off annually on March 2, the birthday of the famous children’s book author – Dr. Seuss. The program’s mission is to encourage kids nationwide to collectively read one million books in the month of March.
So start reading and find out if Sam-I-Am likes green eggs and ham!
